Best Perfume Essential Oils
Before we get into any recipes, let us know which essential oils you should consider. This is the most important decision you are going to make, if you don’t love the scent how often are you going to wear it?
- Lavender
- Eucalyptus
- Peppermint
- Spearmint
- Tea Tree
The scents on the list above are my personal favorites, now everyone has different tastes when it comes to scents. I suggest if this is your first time, you consider trying these to get started. Next, Gizmo has some cool combinations that you might find even more appetizing for your own taste.
Easy Lavender Perfume Recipe
Being lavender is my favorite scent of them all, I am going to share this easy-to-do for beginners recipe. Everyone is not as partial to this scent as Gizmo, but I hope you will seriously give this a chance by preparing it yourself at home.
What We Need
- 2 Tablespoons of Jojoba carrier oil
- Approximately 60 drops of lavender oil
- 5 tablespoons of non-flavored 100-proof vodka
- 2 Tablespoons of distilled flower water
How to Prepare
- Add Jojoba carrier oil lavender oil to a glass bottle, and being sure it has a tight-fitting lid is important.
- Shake for several seconds to test the consistency, you don’t want this to be too heavy or too thin.
- Thin heavy consistency by adding small amounts of your Jojoba carrier oil until to your liking.
- Thicken too thin consistently by adding more lavender oil, being patient is the key to forming the perfect consistency for your homemade perfume.
- We are now ready to add the vodka, and then shake to mix your ingredients.
- Allow this to sit with the lid closed for approximately one week
- Time to add your distilled flower water, we must shake to mix all the ingredients extremely well.
- You have just prepared your first homemade lavender perfume, now transfer your perfume to your preferred storage bottles to give as gifts or to use yourself.
This is a very beginner-friendly perfume recipe, and lavender is the perfect choice as your first time preparing your very own healthier alternative to store-bought perfume.
