Weight Loss Tips

Let us read about some of the best tips provided by NHS, and who knows maybe we will learn something new to add to our plan? Never can read too much information about anything that is important to you, now check out the tips for yourself.

  • Eat breakfast is the top tip on the list, and how many of us still skip breakfast? I am guilty of this myself most days, sometimes I do eat a few spoonfuls of low-fat yogurt before starting my day.
  • Eating regular meals is next on our list, we have heard this many times as well. What I do that works for me is eating tiny meals and snacks during my day, and even though this is not recommended it does seem to work for me.
  • Lots and lots of fruit and veggies, that is one thing I am doing by putting my favorites in a basket on my kitchen counter. When feeling a bit low on energy, I just grab something from my basket instead of opening my refrigerator.
  • Are you sick and tired of hearing we must exercise daily, this is another one that we all are aware of? Adopt yourself a dog is an easy fix for this, I take short walks several times per day with my Miniature Australian Shepherd.
  • Staying hydrated by consuming more water and less high-calorie beverages does work for me, since turning over 60 my body dehydrates very easily so water is something I have no choice but to drink more of.
  • Adding more fiber is important and very few of us do, I started taking a fiber supplement daily to help me get more of this into my own body.
  • Do you really know what is in your food, since being gluten intolerant I must read the labels before purchasing when grocery shopping? Actually, I was amazed at what was in my favorite foods until I had to read the labels.
  • Trade-in your bowls and plates for smaller ones is highly recommended, that means no filling your bowl and plate twice instead.
  • Eat in moderation foods higher in calories that you love, when I had to give up gluten I craved them even more especially pizza.
  • Don’t give up junk food completely, what I do is only purchase one when I get a craving. When you don’t have them at home, many times you will not go to the market just to buy them.
  • Beer drinkers often develop the beer belly, you see grains are one of the food types that add fat to our tummy. Beer is made from grains, so even if you cut out other grains but drink a lot of beer you more likely won’t lose your belly.
  • Grocery shopping is our worse time for falling off our healthy meal plan, we must find the willpower to not fill our shopping carts with the wrong types of foods. Staying out of the aisles with these is my best strategy, but my store got smart and puts some on the end of the aisles to tempt me.

We are only human and can’t expect to just give up all the unhealthy food, with some of the tips above that were shared from my own experience, you just might find that some will work for you as well.
